Tangent Private Wealth

A family office, at the scale of one family.

For households whose finances have outgrown a standard advisory relationship: concentrated stock, multiple entities and trusts, real estate, philanthropy and the next generation, coordinated by one team that knows the whole picture.

The Alps

Some households reach a point where the questions get harder, and the answers stop fitting in a quarterly meeting.

A liquidity event that changes the tax picture for a decade. An operating company, a trust and a rental portfolio that each have their own advisors and none of them talking. Children who will inherit more than they have been prepared for. Private Wealth is our dedicated tier for a small number of families who want one team taking responsibility for all of it.

What we take on

Every account, every entity, every question that touches the balance sheet.

The scope is the household, not the accounts we happen to manage. Where you already have a CPA, estate attorney or corporate counsel, we coordinate them; where you don’t, we help you find the right one.

01

Comprehensive planning

A single plan across every account and entity: personal, trust, business and retirement. Cash flow, liquidity, taxes, insurance, estate and philanthropy, ranked by dollars at stake and revisited every quarter.

02

Independent investment research

Due diligence on public and private holdings, including the positions you bring with you. We have no products of our own and no incentive to recommend one manager over another.

03

Tax-aware portfolio design

Asset location across taxable, deferred and Roth accounts, lot-level selling, loss harvesting and a conversion schedule, all coordinated with your CPA so the return reflects the plan.

04

Concentration and liquidity

A written policy for the company stock or business interest that built the wealth: how much to hold, how fast to diversify, and how to fund the next decade of spending without forced sales.

05

Family governance and the next generation

Family meetings, a shared understanding of what the wealth is for, and age-appropriate financial education for children and grandchildren, so the plan survives the people who made it.

06

A standing agenda

A quarterly calendar of what gets reviewed and decided, plus a direct line when something comes up between meetings: a sale, an offer, a market shock, a family change.

Our approach

Measured in seasons, not quarters.

Multi-generational wealth is not built by reacting to the market. It is built by deciding in advance what matters, writing it down, and then holding the line when the weather turns. That is the discipline we bring, and the one we ask of the families we work with.

How it works

Deliberately small, so each family gets real attention.

An introductory call

A short phone call on what you are trying to solve and whether this tier is the right fit. If a standard advisory relationship or a one-time plan would serve you better, we will say so.

Discovery and the household map

We gather every account, entity, document and advisor relationship into one picture, then meet with you to agree on what matters most and in what order.

The plan and the first decisions

A written plan for the household, an investment policy for each pool of capital, and a ranked list of first moves with owners and dates.

Ongoing, on a calendar

Quarterly reviews on a standing agenda, an annual family meeting, and availability between meetings when life does not wait for the next one.

Fees, in writing

Private Wealth is billed as a combination of an asset-based fee and a flat annual planning fee, agreed in writing before we begin and described in our Form ADV Part 2A. We are paid by you and only by you.
