Your first call with Tangent
Fifteen minutes with Lee, by phone, with one purpose: to find out whether we can help you and whether you’d want us to. There is nothing to sign and nothing to buy.
What we’ll talk about
- 1
Where you are and what you want
Your work, your family, the shape of your finances at a high level, and the one or two questions that prompted you to reach out. Fifteen minutes is enough for this.
- 2
How we work and what it costs
What an engagement looks like, what you’d get, and the fee, in plain numbers. If a narrower project makes more sense than an ongoing relationship, we’ll say so.
- 3
Whether it makes sense to go further
If it does, we’ll suggest a second meeting, by video or in person, to go through your numbers. If it doesn’t, we’ll tell you, and point you somewhere useful if we can.
What to bring
Nothing is required. If you want to make the most of the time, having these nearby lets us be specific rather than general:
- A recent pay stub
- A summary of your equity grants (RSUs, ESPP, options)
- A rough list of accounts and balances
- The question that made you pick up the phone
We’ll ask for documents only if you decide to move forward, and then through a secure upload, never by email.
What happens after
A short note from Lee summarizing what we discussed and the two or three things worth looking at, whether or not you work with us.
A second meeting, usually within two weeks, to walk through your accounts and build the first version of the plan. The fee is agreed in writing before any work begins.
No follow-up calls, no drip emails. You’re welcome to come back whenever the timing is right.
